All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship candidate for Gombe State, Mohammed Inuwa Yahaya, on Thursday, flagged off his campaign with a vow to defeat the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, claiming that APC is now deeply rooted in the state.
At the election campaign launch in Kaltungo township stadium, Kaltungo LGA of Gombe state, Inuwa lamented that the state has been mismanaged by successive administration in the state.
He particularly lamented that the past 8 years administrations of Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo in the state did not bother to empower the people and developed the state.
Cheered by party supporters, the gubernatorial hopeful assured vice president Yemi Osibabnjo and other party leaders present that come February and March PDP will finally be bury in the state.
“We are here today to uproot PDP, I am assuring you Mr. Vice President that come February 16, we shall deliver you and Mr. President and come March 2nd, we shall finally bury the PDP by electing the governor and all other candidates.” He said.
He also used the occasion to present candidates vying for other elective position under the platform of the APC in the state.
“The people of Gombe must retrace their future by voting out PDP at all levels in the next election.”
Speaking at the event vice President Osibanjo admonished the crowd not to believe the lies being propagated by the PDP that APC is an Islamic party, stressing that President Buhari respects and have high sense of regards for Christians.
He said President Buhari is very sincere and not bias, that is why himself, the SGF and other Christians serving in this government are enjoying good working relationship with the President.
Also speaking the leader of the APC in the state, Sen. Danjuma Goje, said APC, decided to launch its campaign in the Southern part of Gombe in other to uproot the PDP in the zone which is considered as PDP stronghold.
The event was graced by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Boss Mustapha, Governors of Adamawa and Bauchi States, Jibrilla Bindow and Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar, respectively.
Other dignitaries are, Sen. Bala Ndume, Sen. Modu Sheriff and a host of others.
