As many churches we have per each square foot, we even have more Superheroes. From Lagos to Enugu, to Ekiti, to Imo, to Osogbo all the way to Fiditi and even Wakanda. We have them all on a damn long spreadsheet! My hero is a distinguished ‘Chief’ and yours to me, could be a common Thief. Your’s to you is definitely a Chief and mine to you could be a Thief! It’s all good! Monkey no fine but him Mama like am so!
The value placed on hero worship in this here clime is increasingly stressing common sense.
My generation grew up on Stan Lee’s colorful Comic crime fighting heroes. These ones here and now do not have to look too far or way too hard.
They have real ‘heroes’ spread all across the land. Heroes here come in different formations. High-flying GOs are heroes. The Avengers are heroes. Nnamdi is a hero. Jagaban is a Hero. Olybukola is a hero. The dud in Ekiti is a hero. Ajagbemokeferi is a hero. Everyone here is a hero. From coast to coast, let the celebration of Chiefs and Thieves in the market squares commence!
It’s raining heroes, Hallelujah! It’s raining Heroes, Amen!
