Jaiz Bank Meets With The Media, Disusses Expansion Plans

Jaiz bank on Tuesday had a parley with the media as the bank rolled out its expansion plans and readiness for the public.

Jaiz bank recently held a media parley with top journalists from across the country as they discussed their continued influx into the mainstream of the Nigerian banking industry. The event was attended by representatives from Thisday, Tribune, Vanguard, Businessday, Business Post, among others.

Also in attendance was the MD, Jaiz bank, Mallam Hassan Usman, Regional Manager in charge of West, Alhassan Abdulkarim and other officials of the bank. The event was hosted by Moruf Adelekan of PR Redline, partners with Jaiz bank.

In his speech, Mallam  Hassan Usman stated that Jaiz bank started as a regional bank although they had representatives in Lagos.

“We started Jaiz bank as a regional bank and while we had a representative in Lagos, we were not engaged in this part of the world because the franchise of the bank was restricted to two Geo-political zones of northwest and northeast in the four years of the bank.”

He further said that they’ve since opened strategic locations in Lagos: Ikoyi, Ikeja, Marina and Appapa.

According to him, Jaiz bank is a non-interest bank, an Islamic bank that bases their contracts and services on moral and religious principles, not just Islam alone. He also went on to say that there’s nothing Islamic about Jaiz bank; it’s for everybody, despite your religion.

The Jaiz bank MD also added that the bank aims to hold its role as a leader in the ethical banking sector and also strive to be the best financial service provider for customers to bank, for employees to pursue careers and for shareholders to invest.

The Regional Manager in charge of West, Alhassan Abdulkarim spoke about the company’s products and services. He made mention of five major prohibitions of Jaiz bank which includes taking or paying interest, trading in unlawful products and services, unethical policies like monopoly, ainsi de suite.

Jaiz was formed in 2003 called Jaiz International and they were granted original license in November 2011 ans started operations in January 2012 in three locations.
