The Kaduna State Police Command has refuted a story published on the Vanguard, the Sun and other print media in respect to the media chat granted to journalists by the Commissioner of Police Ahmad Abdurrahman on the recent Kajuru Crisis yesterday.
CP Abdurrahman said the publication titled “POLICE COMMISSIONER FAULTS EL-RUFAI” in the papers tried to misconstruct the honest and professional opinion of his personality.
“The story is a mischief and mispresentation of facts aimed at creating unnecessary misconceptions in the minds of unsuspecting members of the public.”
It is understood clearly that some unscrupulous elements among the press have been contracted to heat the atmosphere by politicizing the Kajuru Crisis and in doing so ridicule security agencies. He said.
“I only tried to apprise members of the public to understand the situation as Police investigation is ongoing.”

The CP noted “in crisis of this nature and magnitude, casualty figure can change until investigation is over. Thus even the figure initially given might change with time as more hamlets affected by the crisis are being discovered through investigation and intelligence.”
He however said while respecting the rights of the media in disseminating information for the good of the nation, the command will not condone deliberate mischief and reckless reportage/publication that could disrupt the hard earned peace being enjoyed by the good people of Kaduna state.
The Command assures the public of a formidable security as they go out to vote, adding they have deployed enough policemen who will man the polling units and environs, also their surveillance Aircraft has arrived for patrol to safeguard the election process for a peaceful conduct.
CP reassures the public that the police is doing everything possible to ensure peaceful atmosphere in the state while efforts are also on to fish out the perpetrators of the recent violence.
