Stallionaire  donates church building, others to community

As part of its Corporate Social responsibility (CSR), Stallionaire, an oil and gas company (Downstream) with active involvement in importation, distribution and selling of petroleum products, has donated a multi-million naira ultramodern church, borehole to the people of Ekiti village in Obafemi Owode Local Government area in Ogun State.

The village comprising over  100 people who are mainly peasant farmers worship every Sunday in a dilapidated and thatched roof – building of over 100 years.

To address this problem, Stallioniare had donated a multi-million naira moderate and befitting house of worship, tastefully furnished which was handed over to the community leader in a short ceremony attended by prominent sons and daughters of the village.

Flagging off the ceremony, the GMD/CEO of Stallionaire, Mr Deji Somoye said this is part of the company’s plans and effort to give back to humanity.

Recounting his experience and motivation to erect this edifice. He said:  “I was driving to Abeokuta in late 2016 when I saw a group of old men and women serving their God under a heavy downpour. It was raining heavily that day.  My heart bled and right there, I called our Head, CSR Unit to include EKITI  Village as one of the beneficiaries of our CSR for the coming year. Today, the dream has come true and we thank God for His mercies.”

In addition, a 10km road was constructed to support the community in moving their farm produce to the local government headquarters, this coupled with three giant boreholes strategically constructed and located in three different zones of the village.

Responding, the village Head, Mr Alhaji Badiru Sobande who commended  Stallionaire for the gesture said he had not witnessed this kind of generosity in over 50 years he had ascended the throne as the village head.
