My attention has been drawn to a completely laughable, tissue-of-lies press conference held in Ilaro by a shadowy, rented crowd operating under the high-sounding name of “Ogun West Concerned Stakeholders.” In their desperate bid to earn the crumbs falling from the table of their external paymasters, this group of political jobbers chose to question the ancestral roots of our performing Senator, Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi), while blindly endorsing a candidate from outside our zone.
Let it be known clearly and unequivocally: This is not a political critique; it is a direct assault on the economic liberation, unity, and progress of Yewa-Awori land. It is the desperate kick of a dying horse, executed by known agents of darkness who are terrified of the rapid development blowing across Ogun West.
1. The Ancestry Card: A Cheap, Expired Myth
To say Senator Yayi’s ancestry is “in doubt” is to display crass historical ignorance. Senator Adeola’s roots as a proud Isaga descendant from the Pahayi quarters in Ilaro are well-documented, public, and firmly established by the custodians of our culture. The Isaga Descendants Union and our revered traditional rulers have long cleared the air on this.
For these political mercenaries to suddenly wake up and claim they “do not know him” reveals a severe case of selective amnesia. Where were these “stakeholders” when the same Yayi won a historic, landslide victory to represent Ogun West in the Senate? Did aliens vote him into office? The people of Ogun West know their son, they love their son, and no paid hack can rewrite our family trees.
2. Who is Afraid of Yayi’s Performance?
The real grievance of these retrogressive elements is not Senator Yayi’s ancestry; it is his intimidating, unmatched record of performance.
For decades, Ogun West was marginalised, treated as the whipping boy of Ogun State politics, and left with infrastructural decay. In just a short time in the Senate, Yayi has flipped the script. From massive electrification projects, road networks, mega empowerment schemes for thousands of youths and women, to transforming the educational landscape through massive grants and scholarships—Yayi has delivered more tangible development to Ogun West than these noise-makers have achieved in their entire collective lifespans.
They accuse him of not participating in past struggles, yet they deliberately forget that even while serving elsewhere, his heart was always home—sponsoring bills like the upgrade of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, to a university.

3. The Ultimate Betrayal: Selling Ogun West for a Mess of Pottage
The ultimate hypocrisy of this “Concerned” group was exposed when they declared their backing for Hon. Ladi Adebutu—a politician whose own political base and ancestry lie completely outside Ogun West.
Look at the absurdity: They claim to defend Ogun West interests, yet they are rejecting an illustrious, performing son of Yewa land to sell the region’s birthright to an outsider. Who is the real enemy of the soil here? Who is working against the collective destiny of our people?
By trying to pull down the most viable, powerful, and strategically positioned candidate Ogun West has ever produced for the 2027 governorship race, these characters have proven that they are nothing but saboteurs. They want Ogun West to remain subservient, beggarly, and divided so they can continue to cash out from their external sponsors.
My Uncompromising Stand
I say NO to the pulling-down syndrome. I say NO to the stomach-infrastructure politics of rented stakeholders.
The Yewa-Awori nation has moved past the era of dark, backroom politics. We have entered the era of light, development, and political emancipation. Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) represents that light. The 5,000 imaginary members they claim to have exist only in their pockets; the real masses of Ogun West stand solidly behind progress.
2027 is not about cheap blackmail; it is about capacity, track record, and delivery. On these fronts, Yayi stands unchallenged. The agents of darkness have failed, and the liberation of Yewa-Awori land cannot be stopped!
A Clarion Call to Action: Safeguard Our Future with Our PVCs
I call on all true sons and daughters of Ogun West, all proud indigenes of Yewa-Awori land, to see through the desperate antics of these political merchants. We cannot afford to fold our hands or lose focus. The complete transformation of our region requires our absolute dedication and numbers.
Therefore, I urge every single one of us to rise, dusting off and securing our Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). We must mobilise our households, our neighbourhoods, and our communities to go all out and vote en masse. Let us use our power at the polls to confidently return our leader, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR), for a well-deserved second term in office to sustain national stability, while simultaneously shattering the jinx of marginalisation by installing Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) as the very first Yewa-Awori Governor of Ogun State.
Our liberation is in our votes!
