African Music Festival and Cultural Expo holds in Lagos

All is set for the hosting of the African Music Festival and Cultural Expo ‘AMFEST Expo, Lagos 2018’. This yearly event is a networking platform catering to the culture, arts and entertainment ecosystems on the African continent.

According to a statement from organisers, the event “is laden with the responsibility of expanding Africa’s creative economy into the global market through the exhibition and promotion of rich creative cultural talents and potential across Africa.

“The project would cater directly to the economic expansion of African music, fashion, food, culture and creative arts industries into the global marketplace.”It is designed as a five-day event that will hold from July 2 to 6, 2018 at the Landmark Event Center, Oniru, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The resource persons coming to grace the AMFEST Expo platform will foster great impartation on the emerging African creative ecosystem. “We are delighted at the prospects of the creative content, insight and knowledge of the international market that they will bring,” said OluKayode Amedu Adebayo, director, Media (AMFEST).

The resource persons include, Ayoko Mensah – BOZAR (Brussels – Belgium), Binetou Sylla – Syllart Records (France), Frederic Menard – Tribu Music Festival, France), Ni Bing – Martial Arts Music, Beijing – China, Christine Semba – World Music Expo, Berlin – Germany and DJ George Milz – Outhere Records, Germany.The event is conceptualised by Adebayo of Media Africa, GoldRock Inc, USA in partnership with Piranha Arts AG, Berlin- Germany, conveners of World Music Expo (WOMEX).

“Our goal is to create business and networking opportunities for African Creativity Businesses and professionals by bringing them together with global industry players into a high powered networking and culture exchange platform for five days,” said Adebayo. “We believe that this event will help professionals in the industry understand the opportunities available within and outside the industry, locally and internationally. It will strengthen and help further discussions, then also facilitate necessary relationships that could position practitioners and talents on a global scale.”
