Officials of second-placed Bayern Munich are worried that star midfielder, Thiago Alcantara could miss this weekend’s Bundesliga tie with Freiburg at the Allianz Arena. The match billed for tomorrow by 3:30 p.m. will be broadcast for Nigerian football lovers by StarTimes (Channel 254 and 245).

Thiago Alcantara suffered an ankle ligament injury and could be out for ‘a few weeks.’ The Spanish international limped out of the German giants’ DFB-Pokal win over Rodinghausen on Tuesday, adding to injury worries for manager Niko Kovac.

The former Barcelona man, 27, who has played in 14 out of 15 competitive games this season, was replaced in the 75th minute after being fouled. And Bayern Munich Coach, Niko Kovac, who was under pressure last month after a run of four games without a win, admitted the injury “doesn’t look good”.

Bayern have had injury problems all season with Tolisso, Leon Goretzka, Kingsley Coman, Arjen Robben, Jerome Boateng, Rafinha, Mats Hummels and Franck Ribery all absent at different times.

Wolfsburg will also host current Table toppers, Dortmund at the Volkswagen Arena by 3.30 p.m. West African time.
