While calling on INEC to improve its conduct in the forthcoming elections, Abanum expressed his frustration in the last election, stressing that in most polling units across the state, voting did not start until about 12pm, a system he described as failure on the part of INEC and plot to rig by desperate parties.
“ I want to call on INEC to improve its conduct in the forthcoming elections, although INEC may have had some challenges with some rickety commercial buses hired, let them engage reputable commercial transport companies for better service delivery” Abanum added
He commended Deltans for allowing peace to prevail throughout the process, even as he condemned the wanton bloodlet in some parts of the country on the day of elections, stressing that” irrespective of the winner, only the living can testify”
He however called on political party leaders to caution their supporters against reckless celebrations of elections’ victory, adding” it’s unfortunate to see young people engaged in Political thuggery, it’s unfair, and unacceptable, we are very concerned about some political parties allowing their supporters to make troubles and attack those not supporting their parties”
