One person has been killed and over 10 villages sacked by armed bandits in Batsari Council of Katsina State on Wednesday night.

The victim was reportedly killed in Ruma Tsohuwa community.

Villages sacked include Garin Labo, Garin Yara, Garin Dodo, Shingi, Kasai, Sabon Garin Danburawa, Dantudun and Garin Yara.

The incident came less than a week after bandits killed a soldier and five civilians in Kasai.

Following Wednesday night’s attack, a source in the area told newsmen that more than 2,000 women and children were displaced, and that most of them were taking refuge at the Model Primary School in Batsari town.

“The bandits have continued to carry out the attack on most nights since the attack leading to the killing of the soldier.

“They attack two villages per day. The last was carried out in Ruma Tsohowa last night where one person was killed and they carted away so many animals,” he said.
