Benin Club Captain’s inaugural tournament begins tomorrow

The Benin Club Golf Section (BCGS) Captain’s inaugural tournament will tee off on Easter Sunday, the organisers have revealed. They have also disclosed that more than 120 players are expected at the one-day event, which participants would be drawn from various golf clubs within the South-South region.

According to the club captain, Osagie Nehikhare, the tournament is yearly event, which the new captain uses to announce his position as the number one golfer in the section.

Nehikhare confirmed that all necessary arrangements to ensure a hitch free tournament have been perfected by the local organising committee, adding that the tournament is of great importance to golfers in Nigeria.

He revealed that prizes and trophies would be presented to those who distinguish themselves at the event, adding, “There are prizes for all the categories in both men’ and Ladies event respectively.

“We have men’s and ladies, veteran, super veteran category. Golfers from Ibori Golf and Country Club, Asaba; UBTH Golf Club, Benin; Shell Golf Club, Ogunnu, Warri; Port-Harcourt Golf Club; Air Assault Golf Club, Port-Harcourt, and many others are expected at the tournament. So it is going to be exciting and competitive all through the day, come on Easter Sunday.”
