Foremost sports betting company, Bet9ja has given a big boost to some special athletes to enable them take part in today’s Lagos City Marathon by providing them with wheelchair and kits.

This would not only ensure they develop their talents, but also expose them to the highest level of competition.

According to the Brands and Communications Manager of KC Gaming Network, Tunji Mesh, “Bet9ja is interested in encouraging special athletes based in Nigeria and abroad to develop their God given talents.

“We are providing wheelchairs and kits to these special athletes to develop them individually and to grow special sports. The gesture is for athletes in Nigeria and those based abroad. We are providing at least 50 wheelchairs as well as t-shirts and other kits to encourage them to participate in the event.”

Mesh advised that special athletes must be encouraged to attain their potential and become great athletes that would make Nigeria proud. He added: “Over the years, special athletes had done what their abled bodied counterparts could not do by winning laurels at major competitions. We must sustain the tempo of developing our athletes by meeting their special needs.

“As a responsible corporate organisation, we must live up to our responsibilities.”

Top athletes are expected to participate in the event, which flags off at 6.30 a.m. today from the National Stadium Surulere to Atlantic City. Bet9ja is one of the sponsors of the Marathon.
