The Order of the Knights of St. Mulumba (KSM), Lagos Metropolitan Council, has described abortion, capital punishment, contraception, homosexuality, euthanasia, kidnapping, domestic violence and child abuse as ills that cut life short.

Metropolitan Grand Knight, Sir William Adebisi, disclosed this in a press conference, yesterday, at St. Gerald Catholic Church, Gbagada, Lagos, after a pro-life rally and walk for life themed: ‘Keeping Wholly the Tri-unity of our Humanity’.

At the rally were members of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers (CCM), Catholic Men Organisation (CMO) and young pro-life ambassadors.

However, due to apathy to campaigns against abortion and other acts that shorten life, the knights are planning a funfare, this year, where comedians and other artistes would be used to pass pro-life messages to the youths.

KSM was established in Nigeria on June 14, 1953 by the late Rev. Fr. Abraham Ojefua, a monk from Illah Monastery in present-day Delta State and modelled after the Sacred Order of Catholic Knighthood in Uganda. It has over 22,000 members in Nigeria.

During the walk around Gbagada, the knights, accompanied by the Ladies of St. Mulumba, preached “life is sacred, protect it.”

Similar events, Adebisi said, were taking place simultaneously in four locations in Lagos and three in Ondo State.

Arguing that economic reasons fuel abortion, he explained how the group had been assisting victims of abortion, pre-marital pregnancy and drug abuse.
