Court Remands Man Over Alleged Motorcycle Theft

An Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court in Osun on Thursday remanded one John Ibong, 28, over alleged theft of a motorcycle.

The Prosecutor, Cpl Odusina Olawale, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on June 26, 2019 at about 01:00 pm at Isale-Agbara, Ile-Ife.

Olawale said that the defendant stole a TVS motorcycle with registration number: KTU 254 QM, valued at N310, 000, property of one Adeleke Rasaq.

He added that the offence contravened sections 383 and 390 (10A) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.

The defendant, who was not legally represented pleaded not guilty to the one-count charge of stealing.

Magistrate Olukunle Owolawi did not grant bail to the defendant but asked him to come with formal application for the consideration of his bail.

Owolawi, therefore, ordered for the remand of the defendant in Ile-Ife prison custody.

The case was adjourned until July 16, for hearing. (THE NATION)
