A non governmental organization, Ekiti Development Front has urged Ekiti people to shine their eyes in the forthcoming July 14, 2018 election in the state to vote against the present Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) government for shying away from its responsibilities.
The convener of EDF Barr. Adeoye Aribasoye who made the declaration during the weekend when he went to inspect the bridge linking Odo Ayedun-Ipao in Ikole Local Government Area of the state being constructed by the organisation.
Aribasoye who lamented the level of neglect of his people by the Fayose’s government urged the people to reject “the continuity of suffering and poverty on July 14, with their vote and vote massively for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Dr. Kayode Fayemi in order to be free from their present “slavery”.
A community leader, Elder Abraham Ilesanmi who spoke with our correspondent disclosed that there have been several letters and appeal to Governor Fayose to help them construct the bridge “but no response”.
He disclosed further that the people of the area have not enjoyed government patronage in terms of rural development since Fayemi left government, “in fact it was Fayemi’s government that opened up some of our farm roads with his 5 kilometer rural road projects across the state”

EDF which has as part of its focal point of alleviating the suffering of the people had last week graded no less than two kilometer Irekanmi street, off Aba iya medi on Ilawe road in Ado Ekiti which was also neglected by Fayose said the Ipao- Odo Ayedun bridge has gulped about N300,000.
Aribasoye who noted that part of the focus of the organisation is to ensure good governance , explained that he was using his organisation to campaign for Fayemi because he believed in his ability to turn around the situation of Ekiti for better “because Fayemi is a tested and trusted leader””
The organisation which was established to create wealth for the people and ensure good governance specifically condemned the resent government of Ayo Fayose for “impoverishing the people of Ekiti”.
He called on the people and communities in the state to continue to obtain the EDF form and ensure they fill and submit it in time without delay, adding that over 55 thousand people have obtained the EDF form while about 500 cases have been attended to by the organisation within the last one month out of the forms that have been completed and returned by the people in time.
Aribasoye who declared that EDF empowerment form is not for sale warned that any one
found selling its forms will be made to face the wrath of the law.
He listed others focal points of the organisation to include fighting for rights of the people through legal means, as well as political enlightenment amongst others.
