Speaking to over 2,000 members of the party in his country-home in Umukabia Okpuala, Ohuhu in Umuahia North Local Government Area, he expressed optimism that Bubari will emerge victorious in the state in a landslide.

“Literarily speaking, the first runner-up to him will not see the rear lights of the president,” he told the members which included 10-men campaign team from each of the 184 wards across the 17 local government areas of the state.

He said as he embarked on the three-week tour which was not centered in the area headquarters alone, the residents were coming out in their numbers clamouring for the return of the President for him to continue with his good work.

According to him, it could not had been otherwise when one considers the great work the President was doing in the country in his avowed determination to fight corruotion, insecurity, and fix the economy.

“Similarly, he expressed their appreciation to the APC administration for the ongoing rehabilitation of several infrastructure in the South East zone and the 2nd Niger Bridge which had defied past administrations,” he said.

The director, field operations of the APC 2015 presidential campaign and deputy chairman, Buhari Campaign Board argued that if Buhari could be gracious to the zone despite its paltry vote for him in 2015, he will do more now for them if they vote for him.

“Take this message to every nook and cranny of the state that we must join the winning team by rejecting the opposition at all levels for the benefit of the present and our  future generations,” the candidate further said.

During the tour, Emenike, who repeatedly reiterated that the residents must embrace the APC to have a say in the mainstream of the country’s politics, commended the members for their large turn out for the rally.

One of the high points of the rally, was the defection of over 2,000 members of the opposition including the rulling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the party, who were received by the state chairman, Dr. Emmanuel Ndukwe.

LEADERSHIP recalls that the former executive committee of the state chapter of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), led by Chief Lawrence Irokansi have pledged their support for the return bid of the President.

Recieving them in his home, Emenike said their voices and votes will go a long way to make the President’s reelection an easy task, assuring them that their members will be carried along in the campaign.
