MFM lose first game in five matches
Former champions, Enyimba of Aba, yesterday defeated Akwa United by a lone goal to move up to the fourth position on the NPFL log on a day MFM suffered their first loss in five games of the league.

Enyimba, who now play in Calabar following the on-going repairs at the Aba Stadium, waited until the 82nd for the win made possible by Skipper Mfon Udoh’s long-range shot.

The loss did not change Akwa United’s situation, as they remain on the 19th spot on the log.

In Ilorin, Samuel Oyedeji converted a penalty kick 17 minutes from time to hand ABS victory over MFM FC, which matched the Ilorin side in all the departments until Stanley Okorom was adjudged to have upended Ebuka Anakwe in the box.

Yesterday’s loss also did not change MFM’s position, as they remain second on the table, but ABS moved from fourth to third position.

Plateau United are still on top of the table following their 2-0 defeat of El Kanemi Warriors on Wednesday.

The Jos club have 17 points from seven matches, four points clear of MFM FC.
