Sponsor of Surulere Team, Ayoola Monayajo, is delighted to have a side at the two-day Beach Olympics holding between March 3 and 4 at the Eko Atlantic City, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The championship, which will involve 10 teams, is being organised to help groups of aspiring 20 talented young men and women to better their lives.

The event, which will include 15 games, is categorised into three: the sand sports, the speed sports and the strength sports. The sand sports are volleyball, wheelbarrow race, high jump, long jump, and triple jump.

Speaking on his involvement, Monayajo, a fashion designer, disclosed that he was approached by one of his friends, the team leader of the Surulere contingent, to assist in sending the squad to the competition.

“This is a business opportunity that has no room for losses. Investment in something as fascinating as Beach Olympics brings me closer to my dream of owning a club someday,” he said.

Participating athletes will have the chance to win cash prizes ranging from N1.5m for winners; N750,000 for runners up and N500,000 for the third position respectively.
