Adeniyi Adeyemi, who claims to be the director-general of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), has rejected allegations by the presidency that he forged documents and falsely represented himself as the head of a government agency.
Speaking during an appearance on Politics Today, a Channels Television programme, Adeyemi insisted he was not a fraudster and challenged authorities to allow the courts determine the legality of the council and his appointment.
“I’m not a con artiste. Let the court decide on the matter,” he said.

The presidency had earlier accused Adeyemi of using forged documents, including an alleged appointment letter, to present himself as the head of a non-existent agency.
Responding to the allegations, Adeyemi questioned why he had been able to openly engage with top government officials and institutions if the agency was truly fictitious.
“Let’s assume the agency does not exist. Would I have the temerity to be going all over the country meeting heads of agencies and departments if they knew the agency does not exist or that I fabricated everything?” he asked.
He further cited his meetings with senior government officials, ambassadors, and other stakeholders as evidence that the council had recognition in official circles.
Despite his defence, the presidency has maintained that the PFIPC has no legal backing and was never created through any executive instrument.
Addressing speculation that his position was a political reward, Adeyemi acknowledged being a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State but denied that his appointment was tied to political patronage.
“I’m a member of APC from Oyo State. I wouldn’t say the position is a reward,” he said.
The controversy surrounding the PFIPC continues to generate debate over the authenticity of the council and the circumstances behind Adeyemi’s appointment claims.
