Professor Johnbull
The incidence of jungle justice occasioned by lack of faith in the security agencies takes the centre stage this week, as television drama series, Professor Johnbull, airs at 8.30 p.m. on Tuesday on DSTV Channel 251, NTA Network and NTA International.
Entitled Jungle Justice, the episode will also be beamed on Sunday on DSTV Africa Magic Family and GOTV Channel 2 at 6.00 p.m., with repeat broadcast at 9.30 p.m. on Thursday and NTA on StarTimes at 8.30 p.m. on Tuesday and Friday, while Anambra Broadcasting Service will air it at 8.30 p.m. on Wednesday and Saturday.
Professor Johnbull, played by Nollywood star, Kanayo O. Kanayo, sheds light on the dangers and evils of jungle justice, declaring that the habit is “blind justice, archaic, inhuman and barbaric as it just acts and does not ask questions.”

While underscoring the need for people to verify facts before taking up weapons against others, the episode engages in advocacy for an orderly and egalitarian society where people do not, under any circumstance, take the laws into their hands thereby breaking the fragile cords of unity that binds the nation together.
The episode equally pleads with the public to repose confidence in the security agencies saddled with the responsibility of maintaining law and order, while defining what jungle justice is, as it submits that not all victims of mob actions are actually “guilty as charged” by the crowd.
Viewers will see how people resort to ‘necklacing’ at the slightest opportunity as well as find out who raised the alarm, which triggered the mob action in the episode.
Similarly, viewers will know why Olaniyi (Yomi Fash Lanso) left his primary role as a restaurateur to form a deadly vigilance group.
The episode will also parade Jumoke (Bidemi Kosoko), the philanderer, Flash (Stephen Odimgbe) and the adjudicator, Samson (Ogus Baba) who were lucky to have escaped untimely death through mob action.
