Ikubese stated this when he played host to about fifty youths from the Congress of Young Intellectuals (CYI) on Friday in his campaign secretariat in Akure.
The youths who cut across various fields of human endeavour were led by the Ondo State Coordinator-General, Mr. Victor Fapetu, a lecturer at the Rufus Giwa Polytechic Owo.
Ikubese thanked the delegation for finding him worthy of their confidence and accepted the membership of CYI, pledging to work with the organisation to birth a new functional Nigerian state.
He said, “Nigeria is about the most blessed nation on the surface of the earth, both in human and natural resources. The major problem we’ve had over the years is that of leadership. If we can get our leadership compass right, this nation will be the pride of the black race”.
He promised to provide that missing link in 2019 when voted into power.
Ikubese said: “Within six months of the inauguration of my government, this nation shall begin to enjoy uninterrupted power supply. It’s an insult for a nation of over 180 million people to depend on Kainji Dam which was built in 1964.
Rather, we shall encourage each state to generate its own power using gas turbines and empower them to distribute same without passing it through the National Grid”.
Ikubese said government is not rocket science. According to him, all that is needed to turn Nigeria around is to vote in selfless, visionary young leaders across board.
