The incumbent Kebbi State Secretary of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former chairman of Danko Wasagu local government area, Alhaji Muhammad Zaure Sakaba has defected to the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kebbi.

Announcing his defection to the ruling APC at Government House in Birnin Kebbi at the instance of Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu and top APC executives, Sakaba said his defection to APC was informed by the monumental development of APC led administration in Kebbi and the unity of the party.

“I came to understand that my position as the secretary of PDP gives me the opportunity to know people and to see what is happening in my state.

”I come to understand that governor Bagudu is somebody who is focused on unity and progress of the state that is why I will support him.

“Anybody in his rich senses knows that Kebbi has developed under Bagudu”, he said.

Earlier Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu expressed happiness over the development recorded by APC in Kebbi.

He said over the last 3 years prominent political party leaders from the opposition have joined the ruling APC because of the confidence and ability of APC under PMB and records of achievements in the state.

Bagudu thanked his aide, Alhaji Faruk Enabo his wisdom in luring the opposition to join the ruling APC in Kebbi.

In his remarks, the Personal Assistant to the governor, Alhaji Faruk Enabo thanked the Almighty God for the giving APC the light to woo opposition to join the party.

He attributed the defection to the good works of governor Bagudu in the State and president Buhari in Nigeria.

He assured that in the remaining days to come, APC will bury PDP in the state as the party will be receiving large number of defectors from PDP.
