The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Lagos State says it will now meet with stakeholders in Ajeromi-Ifelodun Federal Constituency on Wednesday over the pending supplementary election in the constituency.

“INEC in Lagos State will on Wednesday April 17 meet with the relevant stakeholders in Ajeromi-Ifelodun Federal Constituency to deliberate on the pending supplementary election and announcement of result for the constituency as directed by Court.

“The venue is the INEC office in Ajeromi/Ifelodun Local Government,” the spokesman of INEC, Lagos State, Mr Femi Akinbiyi, said in a statement on Monday.

Akinbiyi said that the event would hold at 11:00 a.m.

The spokesman, who said that no date had been fixed for the poll, expressed the commission’s readiness to conclude the election in a peaceful atmosphere, with the cooperation of the stakeholders.

The Feb. 23 National Assembly election in the constituency was declared inconclusive by the electoral umpire and no date has been fixed for the poll.

INEC had said that it would hold supplementary elections in 71 Polling Units across eight wards of Ajeromi-Ifelodun, with 8,984 registered voters.
