The attention of the Management of Lagos Airport Hotel Limited, Ikeja has been drawn to the publications which appeared on the Punch News online of March 1st, 2020 tagged ‘’Why we invited Italian who brought Coronavirus to Nigeria’’ and also in Online PM News of the same date titled: “Italian hit by Coronavirus slept at Lagos Airport Hotel – Lafarge”

In the said interview said to have been granted by the Industrial Director of Lafarge Plc, Mr Segun Soyoye, he was quoted to have said: “The Italian came for a business visit. He was in Lagos on Monday and slept at Airport Hotel, Ikeja. Our driver took him there”

The management of Lagos Airport Hotel Limited, Ikeja wish to state categorically that at no time did the Italian who was in Nigeria on a business meeting to Lafarge Plc lodge at Lagos Airport Hotel Limited, Ikeja.

The hotel’s manifest for Monday 24th, February, 2020 when the Italian arrived Nigeria and indeed for the entire week is there for anyone to crosscheck.

The name of the hotel mentioned in the Punch news online was Airport Hotel, Ikeja while Online PM News stated Lagos Airport Hotel Limited both of which purports to refer to our hotel.

We therefore want to seize this opportunity to debunk any rumour that the said Italian man was accommodated in our hotel on the said date.

The Management of Lagos Airport Hotel Ltd, Ikeja urge the entire public and all our esteemed customers to completely disregard this untrue publication credited to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) while assuring them of their health and safety as they continually patronise our hotel

Mr Kayode Bakare
Managing Director
