The Minister of State Petroleum Resources, Dr Ibe Kachikwu has expressed optimism that with the relative peace achieved in Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the party is ready to deliver all candidates of the party in the general elections.

Speaking in Asaba at the inauguration of the party’s campaign council, Kachikwu congratulated all the candidates that emerged at the party’s primaries saying: “I have to come to this inauguration to solidify the unity in Delta APC. We must work together as a party to win all positions because there is no benefit in losing.”

Dr Kachikwu who was inaugurated Director-General, APC Presidential Campaign in the state, added that there is focus in Delta State because of its enormous potentials hence the needs for APC to win all positions.

The spokesman for the Presidential Campaign in the state, Dr Cairo Ojuogboh said: “I am proud to be here today, the task ahead requires all seriousness, we should be able to deliver all the five positions in the general elections.”

He noted that there is no zoning arrangement in the Delta APC saying Delta State needs a break from the PDP government.

According to him, “There must be healthy competition in democracy and it’s time to give APC a chance to govern Delta State. Zoning was a PDP arrangement. APC must work with cohesion and firmness.

We must work hard to recognise the genuine aggrieved members and reconcile with them. The worse set of party members is those that work anti-party and we must guard against them.”
