Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) President, Musa Kida strongly believes the women’s senior national team will give a good representation of Africa when the 2018 World Cup tips off in Spain.
The Nigerian team is currently in Lagos preparing for the World Cup and Kida believes the chosen players are the best squad available for the country across the world.

Speaking on yesterday, which marked exactly one year D’Tigress won the 2017 Afrobasket Championship in Mali to qualify for the World Cup, Kida said he is hopeful of a good performance in Spain.
The 2017 set went on an eighth game unbeaten run to clinch the Afrobasket title after 13 years of endless wait, but the NBBF president said the present squad is an upgrade on that team.
“I think this is one of the best women’s team that we have going to such a tournament and I am also very hopeful and quite encouraged by what I have seen them do,” he said.
He assured that the federation would work closely with the technical crew to ensure that the best players were picked from the pool available to represent the country at the World Cup.
