Lagos RFC meet Kings College as NRFF league resumes tomorrow

Lagos RFC will tomorrow at the main bowl of the National Stadium, Surulere battle with Kings College Boys Club in continuation of the 2018 Nigeria Rugby Football Federation (NRFF) league, the NRFF has revealed. The match will start by 10.00 a.m.

In the fixtures released by the body yesterday, Lagos Police will meet Racing RFC in the second match by 12.00 p.m., while defending champions, Cowrie RFC will play against Gosar RFC by 2.00 p.m.

According to NRFF’s Technical Director, Ntiense Williams, the board has taken care of the logistics for the success of the matches, adding that the board is also focusing on ensuring that all rugby activities in the 2018 calendar holds as scheduled.

Among the activities lined up for the year are participation in the national sports festival, which is now a medal winning event in the U-15 boys and girls categories, Africa rugby regional sevens tournament in Cote d’Ivoire, qualifiers for the flagship programme, Independence Sevens Championship, Beach Rugby and the 20th anniversary celebration of the NRFF.

According to the president of the rugby body, Kelechukwu Mbagwu, awards would be presented to outstanding individuals, players, coaches and stakeholders, who have contributed immensely in the development of rugby in Nigeria over the years at the anniversary billed to hold later this year.He assured that the board would work round the clock to reposition the game in the country, even as he called on corporate bodies to help its growth by sponsoring its events.
