Ondo-born Tioluwani Olusegun Meroyi, whose stage name is Mc Tom, is a comedian and master of ceremonies. He is poised to affect his world through laughter, while making an impact in the lives of people.

His online show, Comedy Clinic, is ready to set the pace, as it serves as an inspiration for people faced with challenges.

According to him, “that is the reason most of the guests who are invited on the forum are those with practical experiences.

So, they will use their lives and personalities as practical examples.

I had started out with comedy skits and realised that putting a mix of the realities of life with laughter will make a good blend as people can get it all in one platform.”

On his sojourn into comedy, Mc Tom said that comedy has been part of his life. “My father was known to be funny and hilarious. During my university days, I anchored birthday events for my mates and I didn’t consider it as a serious business till I graduated and so far it has been paying off.

I love to make people laugh; the joy of facing the crowd and having them focus on me gives me this unexplainable joy. I am fulfilled when people derive joy and laughter from my jokes.”

Mc Tom, who describes the industry as dynamic, and has allowed a lot of people excel, based on what they have passion for, said that gone were the days you had few people in the industry, but now new developments have taken place, and it makes more competitive in nature.

Comedians won’t crack jokes repeatedly anymore because the next person is bringing out new joke; this has made the industry quite progressive.

Mc Tom, who sees Akpororo as his role model, for his charisma and energy says that he came into the industry to be himself and achieve his set goals, which has been good to him.

On his expectations of the government to the industry, Mc Tom said, “I believe the government should see this industry as one of the backbones of this country.

They should create an academy in all states where career such as public speaker, MC, comedians, would be taught, discovered and harnessed.”
