Reports went viral online earlier that alleged serial rapist, Michael Asiwaju with the Twitter handle, @asiwaju_limited had committed suicide.

This was coming after the allegations of rape levelled against him recently. He had reportedly taken Sniper, a poisonous insecticide in his hotel room on the 13th of January, 2019.

However, his brother, Dapo Asiwaju has taken to Twitter to debunk the claims about his brother’s supposed death. In a tweet, Dapo said that his brother is in a coma and not dead.

He also implored social media users and news outlets to stop spreading fake news about his brother’s state.

He tweeted,

It would be recalled that Michael who is better known as  Mike Cash and is the founder of Asiwaju Royal Furniture allegedly raped a woman in his car in May 2017. A Twitter user with the handle, @thatgoddess made the allegation but said she did not have enough information. In an attempt to prove herself, she posted a chat history between him and the said woman as receipts.

In reaction to the accusations, he posted sex videos of some of the girls claiming that there were his girlfriends. However, tweeps said that the pictures he posted were not in sync with the girls especially the girl that raised the issue on Twitter. He went ahead to claim that his mother had died after hearing of the incident but sources who know him refuted the claim and said that his parents had long been dead. Thereafter, he alleged that it was his former colleague who is now involved in politics that is responsible for the accusations.

This drama was prior to his 2015 case when he was accused and arrested for rape by a Unilorin student and reportedly tried to bribe his way out of the case.
