New Afrika Shrine Karnival To Hold On Jan 17th & 18th

The organisers of the New Afrika Shrine Karnival on Wednesday said  that the event would  be an avenue to enlighten fun seekers on African history, religion and culture.

The New Afrika Shrine Karnival is slated for Jan. 17 and Jan. 18 at the New Afrika Shrine, Ikeja.

Mr Sunday Essien speaking on behalf of the organisers told NAN in Lagos that the Karnival, which is in its 9th edition, have had different topics in the past  years  that were beneficial to its  patrons.

Essien,  the Manager at the New Afrika Shrine,  said that the carnival was not just going to be about music and dance, but would include  free medical programme.

“The New Afrika Shrine Karnival is in the 9th edition and we have done various lectures on health, road safety, youth and politics in the previous editions.

“Hence, this year we want to focus on African history, religion and culture.

“We want to enlighten participants and create awareness on the need to be connected with our roots.

“The New Afrika Shrine Karnival is an educational, wellness and entertainment programme.’’

Essien added that necessary measures had been put in place for the security of potential – participants that would be attending the event
