The need for Nigerians to make collective efforts to develop every facet of the country is the focus of the new episode of the TV Drama Series, Professor Johnbull, sponsored by telecommunications outfit, Globacom.

As viewers book a date with the popular sitcom at 8.30 p.m. this Tuesday on NTA Network, NTA International on DSTV Channel 251 and NTA on StarTimes, they will see the lead character, Professor Johnbull, played by Nollywood icon, Kanayo O. Kanayo (KOK), preach good citizenship with a call on everyone to take collective responsibility so that the society will be a better place.

The episode, which is entitled What About You, looks at the roles individuals should play to make the society better, instead of blaming government or others for the shortcomings in the society.

Professor Johnbull campaigns for civic behaviour among the citizens with regard to due process, proper documentation and foregoing all activities that do not conform with socially acceptable behaviour.

What About You also plays up the need for citizens to realise that it is wrong to believe that government must provide everything, and encourages citizens to maintain facilities provided by the government for their convenience. It also calls for subsistence farming to boost the nation’s food supply.

Among the civic infractions, the erudite scholar highlights in the episode are smuggling, use of fake drivers licence, littering and other unscrupulous activities.

A highlight of the episode is the cameo appearance of popular comedian, Godwin Komone (a.k.a. Gordons), who engages an inexperienced driver packaged for him by the rascally character of the sitcom, Samson (Ogus Baba).

Other regulars of the comic series who feature in What About You are Jumoke (Bidemi Kosoko), Etuk (Imeh Bishop), Olaniyi (Yomi Fash-Lanso) and Abadnego (Martins Nebo).

The repeat broadcast of the episode is on Friday at 8.30p.m. on the aforementioned NTA channels.
