National chairman of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club, Rev. Samuel Ikpea and an estimated 30, 000 fans are set to make the Red Card campaign a reality to help put an end to escalating deaths affecting Nigerians, other migrants on the Mediterranean Sea and the harrowing experiences in the Libyan slave camps.

The two days event, which commences tomorrow with an elaborate road show through the streets of Lagos, will see captains of industry, footballers and officials of the supporters club raising awareness to people still thinking of going through the same route.

The fans congress is expected to have the CEO Football supporters in Europe, Ronan Evain and other Nigerians in attendance.

There shall also be a brief real-time and digitally relayed endorsement messages from CAF, FIFA, UNHCR and other international sports and humanitarian agencies including special Sports Business and SME Small and medium scale enterprises concept presentations by experts.

According to Ikpea, “Day 1 of the event will be streamed live online and will witness a show tagged, ‘Total Red Card,’ which will entail an approximately 30,000 fans simultaneously raising up Red Cards in a symbolic mass campaign against the escalating deaths on the Mediterranean Sea and the Sahara Desert.
