In a chat with Infotrust, a member of the Student Legislative arm disclosed that ‘the said sum is just for phone calls alone without internet and bulk SMS which also had there own budget’.

He said that, “it is alarming that our leaders in SUG, Omotayo Akande and Aare Adebari did not see anything wrong in all of this outrageous budget.

“Can you imagine that while we are expecting an income of N15m, we are budgeting over N26m? Who will foot the excess budget? It is funny that Mr Speaker (Adebari Aare) is going to spend N232, 500.00 for official calls only in less than 6 months?
He decried the insensitivity of the SUG to the plight of the student and disclosed further that, “Our President can not even borrow a leaf from the President of the nation, instead he intends to spend N270K on fuel and a whopping sum of N300K on maintenance of the bus and another N300K for security vote”.

A student who spoke on condition of anonymity to InfoTrust lamented that, “It is unfortunate that the youth are not far different from the politicians of yesterday and most still at the helms of affair when it comes to administration and looting. I just wondered what sort of leadership we are breeding at our tertiary institution across the country. It is sad!”
