Addressing newsmen at the NUJ Press Centre on Wednesday, Olamiju,  who was flanked by some leaders of the party from the constituency accused the DPO, of complicity in the fracas adding that the way and manner the DPO handled the attack on his campaign train further heightened the already tensed situation.

He alleged that the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate for the constituency, Hon Oluwole Oke masterminded an attack on his members and campaign vehicles at Obokun in which two persons were seriously injured by thugs he allegedly recruited from different campuses.

He further alleged that Oke, alongside his cohorts publicly celebrated delivery of ammunition for the purpose of election eleven days ago at Esa-oke,  his home town.

Narrating his ordeal: Olamiju said: “We were about approaching the palace of the Alase of Ase-ijesa when we got the news that some of our members were under attack, we quickly went back to ascertain the degree of injury and attend to the victims.

“When we got to the scene, we realised that two of our members had been stabbed with broken bottles and seriously injured, and because we are law abiding people, we directed the victims to go and make formal complaint at a police station located in Ibokun.

“We were later called to be informed that instead of the DPO to allow those victims to make entry, they were surprisingly locked up for no reason.’’

Meanwhile,  the Commissioner of Police in the state, Fimihan Adeoye , when  contacted, said investigation has begun  on the matter.

He vowed that whoever is found culpable of the dastardly act would be made to face the full wrath of law without delay.
