Some party supporters were yesterday seen collecting Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) from residents in Lagos.

The InfoTrust saw a supporter of one of the major political parties with a paper containing the names and serial numbers of PVCs and was discussing with some people, asking them to get more people on board.

A resident of Mazamaza told The InfoTrust that a neighbour, who belongs to one of the political parties and was an aide to a former Chairman of a local government, asked him to bring his PVC. When he asked what for, he didn’t give any reason.

Though the source claimed he did not give out his PVC, it was however learnt that it was in exchange for cash for those who gave theirs out.

It was gathered that a major party has mobilized party members and supporters to move into communities to collect PVCs from residents with a promise to return them on the day of election.

Another source said the instruction they were given was that the number of PVCs they would present or the serial number would determine the money they would be given to buy votes on the eve of election.
