Groups Express Displeasure Over Postponement
There was heavy security presence, yesterday, at the Yaba, Lagos State Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office, despite the postponement of the general elections.
The InfoTrust sighted officers of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Task force, security dogs, the Nigeria Police, Anti-terrorist squad and Nigerian Army, among others.
An FFS official, who spoke on anonymity, said their presence was to forestall any incidence that would require their services.
Also, a Police officer said they were there to check any mayhem that could come from the postponement.

Meanwhile, the Transition Monitoring Group (TMG), and Human and Environmental Development Agenda, (HEDA) have expressed disappointment over what it described as last minute postponement.
A statement by TMG chairperson, Dr. Abiola Akiode-Afolabi urged INEC to resolve its logistics issues before the newly scheduled dates.
It also urged Nigerians not to be discouraged in exercising their civic responsibility to elect the leaders of their choice to various political offices.
“To all our esteemed Election Observers across the country, partners and the media, we appreciate your support and commitment towards TMG and HEDA’s effort in making Nigeria a better nation.”
