A musical company, Fixit Entertainment, on Thursday said it would partner Skade Entertainment Ltd., to organise a music competition and reality TV show, tagged: “Naija Hall of Fame Africa (NHFA).
Anu Awoseyi, its Managing Director, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that the show would start next month on Silverbird Television Station and on the DStv.
The director said that the show was to source and groom talented youths in songs’ writing, scripting and singing.
According to Awoseyi, it is pertinent to source for youths who are passionate about singing, dancing, scripting and songs’ writing because the industry is fast growing and can accommodate millions of talented youths.
“Therefore, there is need to create a platform to source and groom the youths in their areas of talents and interest, “ Awoseyi said.
The director said he hoped that the show would change the face of the music industry in Nigeria, Africa and globally while standing as the foundation for improvement in the sector.
“ We will showcase in the most entertaining way, the beauty in African talents with the next best fresh creative ideas, music concepts, content, street sense flavored with style, dance steps, beats, and so much more,“ he said.
Awoseyi added that the gesture was to fine-tune and change the way musical talents are sourced for in the nation’s musical industry to a unique manner.
“Time is transient, the music business is changing and the players are evolving, therefore, we need to move and make corresponding strides with time, “ he said.
Awoseyi said that the mission was to create an avenue to select and determine the next best musical talents in the industry while grooming and enhancing their potentials to be bestselling artists.
“The reality TV show will help to discover, develop and establish the best musical performer to the world.
“Talent alone is not enough to achieve the heights of success, but with proper grooming and priming, the tiniest of potential can be turned into a goldmine, “ he said.
He said that there was a gap in fluidity within the music industry and that was how to fill the gap by creating an avenue where all genres were acceptable and all styles of music are allowed to be expressed.
“We intend to impact not only on the Nigerian music industry but also the African and global music industries as well.
“A lot of other talent shows focus on just one type of music and talent, often failing to look out for the right things when deciding who should be positioned as winner and so the seemingly most talented end up not winning.
“Also when the winners emerge, the way their talents are managed and developed does not allow for the journey toward the fulfillment of their potential, “ he said.
Awoseyi said that to this end, NHFA was going to channel the expertise and support of distinguished consultants in the music industry to fish out the untapped potential of talented youth
