Some sacked staff and medical doctors of the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital Uselu, Benin City, who were recently cleared of any offences contained in a federal government directive yesterday raised the alarm by the medical director, Dr Sunny Olotu to challenge government decision to reinstate the affected staff.
Leadership further gathered that in a bid by the Dr. Olotu led management to continue to perpetrate the alleged injustice against the affected staff had perfected plans not to implement the directive of federal government by subjecting it to legal test.
An informed source at the hospital said “ Dr S.O Olotu was appointed as Medical Director (MD)of FNPH-Uselu for reasons now obvious to all in March 2017.During his tenure as MD, Dr S.O Olotu orchestrated phantom criminal case against the staff he considered as imaginary enemies. Many of these case as gleaned from the Courts Judgement were not even investigated by the Police and yet these matters were charged to Court!
“Dr.S.O Olotu as part of his administrative rascality broke into the offices of some of the reinstated staff without a Court Warrant and carted away their personal belongings in their absence.
“Today we are happy to note that Olotu’s acts of brutality and administrative recklessness have been rendered null and void by the Presidency.
The resort to querying the Presidential Directive for the immediate reinstatement of the victimized staff of FNPH-Uselu is an exercise in futility.
“Available reports revealed that the directive was issued in August while the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, was the Acting President. The reason it took such a long time for the Federal Ministry of Health to convey the directives to Dr. Olotu is a matter for discussion at a later date.
“We are reliably informed that the Presidential directives was issued to Olotu for over two(2) weeks now and he is allegedly strategizing with his cronies on how to petition the President or challenge the Presidential directive in court”
“The Nigeria’s Presidency and his act of insubordination to the Vice President and his superior’s at the Federal Ministry of Health must not go unpunished as a deterrent to other disloyal Civil Servants who draw their powers from strange quarters.
“The Change Begins with me campaign must not be seen as a mere slogan within the precincts of FNPH-Uselu. God Willing the plans by Olotu to lynch the Presidential Directives issued to him will fail”
However last week, the image maker of Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital Uselu, in Benin, Efe Stewart, when contacted denied knowledge any directives from the federal government and noted that dismissed staff are still facing criminal cases in court.
