Turkish Airlines partners Rwanda to boost medical tourism

Turkish Airlines has launched a new initiative to boost medical tourism between Rwanda and Turkey.

The initiative seeks to support the exchange of knowledge, experience and technology on medical aspects to boost medical tourism between the two countries, Omer Faruk Korkmaz, the airline’s General manager for Rwanda said, yesterday.

The initiative is also designed to promote bilateral and economic relations between Rwanda and Turkey.

“We are already organising exchange orientation trips for doctors, experts and medical professors from both countries, so they can be able to come up with agreements on how they can work together,” Korkmaz, told The New Times.

We have already contacted the Turkish Association of hospitals who are willing to send doctors to Rwanda to champion this cause, he added.

The airline operates daily flights between Kigali and Istanbul in Turkey.

Rwanda is also cooperating with Turkey in areas of trade, investment and security.
