The District Superintendent of Apostolic Faith Church, West and Central Africa (WECA), Rev. Adebayo Adeniran has called on Nigerians to truly give their lives to God, as well as liberate themselves from sin, so as to experience abundant glory and blessings of God.
Giving this charge at a press conference announcing the 2018 Camp meeting of the church, tagged “A life without blemish”, which holds from August 5 to August 26, Adeniran noted that though religious in outlook, the Nigerian nation still gropes in the dark, due to numerous vice practices of leaders and the led alike.
The DS said that for the country and citizens to be victorious and attain divine heights purposed for their lives, God demands of them a life that is devoid of sin, stain and blemish of any form.
“God is holy and no ungodliness or filth can dwell in his presence. Holy living in all spheres of life is not negotiable”, he said.
While admonishing Christians on the need to live outstanding lives of holiness which is the biblical standard and foundation of true blessings, Adeniran assured that since God requires true holiness of his people, he also gives the grace that makes it possible for them (Christians) to achieve this.
“The world truly is enmeshed in wickedness and sin, such that It seems difficult for one to exist on this planet and remain untainted. Some would even practically impossible it is for one to survive, particularly in this part of the world and be without din or blemish. But that is God’s requirement of us; and he supplies the grace for it. God never demand of us things for which he has made no provisions of adequate grace”, he said.

Speaking on the allegation that religious leaders are compromising the development of the country alongside political leaders, by keeping mute in the face of wide corrupt practices by the political leaders, Adeniran noted that every Nigerian has the responsibility to see to the development of the country.
“The people in government, those in the church and everybody has the responsibility to see to the development of the country. The Apostolic Faith Church is not keeping quiet. This church is saying that there is a root to functional development. If you want functional development, you cannot continue in sin. This nation was created by somebody, and if we do not keep him in sight, we will work against our self”, he said.
Comparing the country with a machine that malfunctions because It is not operated in line with the manufacturer’s manual, the DS the country and individual lives is getting a malfunctioned because the people cast aside the manufacturer’s (God) manual.
“Responsible living, responsible governance cannot be removed from good development. Responsible leadership in church, in society, in the community cannot be removed from good governance and development. But you will discover that all of us are passing the bulk. The press passes the bulk to the government, the government pass it to the church, the church to the mosque. Everybody must stand up responsibly to what is required of him. The religious sector is meant to be the ethical conscience of the nation. When the rich is maligning the poor, the church cannot keep quiet”, he said.
On some religious bodies advising Christians to make sure they vote for Christians in elections, Adeniran said “Vote for a Nigerian who is not corrupt, vote for someone who lives in godliness and who has good ethical orientation. If you vote for a Christian that is embezzling the purse, you are destroying the future of the country.”
