The Police on Thursday arraigned one Dele Gbadura, in an
Ado-Ekiti Magistrates’ Court, for allegedly stealing 11 kegs of palm oil valued at N110, 000.
Gbadura, whose address was not provided, is facing a charge of stealing.
The prosecutor, Sgt.Oriyomi Akinwale, told the court that the accused committed the offence on Dec. 20, 2017 at Taye Fasuba Street, Ado-Ekiti.
Akinwale alleged that the accused stole the palm oil from Mr Tairu Motunrayo.
He said the complainant reported the case to the police and the accused was arrested for further questioning.
According to the prosecutor, the offence contravened Section 390(9) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2012.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Counsel to the accused, Mrs Adunni Olanipekun, urged the court to grant her client bail in liberal terms, promising that she would not jump bail
Magistrate Modupe Afeniforo granted the accused bail in the sum of N50, 000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case until March 9 for mention.
