World Cancer Day 2018: Dr Joe Odumakin, others, call for collective action to end cancer.

As the World commemorate the World Cancer day 2018, an appeal has gone to Nigerians to create more awareness and embark on deliberate actions to reduce the impact of cancer on individuals and the nation.


This call was made in Abuja on Saturday, by the President of the Women Arise and Centre for Change, Dr Joe Okei-Odumakin, who joined other Nigerians from different walks of life, for an awareness March, to commemorate this year’s World Cancer Day.

Dr Joe Odumakin said that the World Cancer Day was an opportunity for Nigerians to collectively examine cancer control strategies and identify winning formulas that would accelerate progress. She also said that the goal  is for all of us to ensure that fewer people develop cancer, more people are successfully treated, and that there is a better quality of life for people during treatment and beyond.


Other Speakers at the event, also emphasized that the World Cancer Day is an opportunity for Nigerians to reflect on the actions that can be taken to make a difference in the fight against cancer
