As part of the yuletide celebration, Lagos State governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode has given bicycles to 100 lucky children, who participated in the 2017 Children’s Party hosted by the wife of the governor, Mrs Bolanle Ambode.
This is even as the wife of the governor had provided at least 30 bicycles for the children.
The party, which was held at the State House, Alausa Ikeja, had in attendance hundreds of children, who were thrilled with varieties of amusement facilities and shows.
Governor Ambode, who was impressed by the large turnout and brilliance performance of the children displayed during the shows, added that next year 250 bikes would be provided.

“I am very impressed with what I have seen here today. The children have performed very well. 100 bicycles will be given to 100 lucky children. Next year, 250 bicycles will be made available.”
Stating how the 100 lucky children would emerge, the governor said: “Hundreds of pieces of paper will be made available for each child, who is of age to pick one each. On the pieces of paper, ‘Yes’ and ‘No’ will be inscribed. Only 100 of the numerous pieces of paper will have on them ‘Yes’, while the rest will be ‘No’. Any child in that category of age who a piece with ‘Yes’ goes home with a bicycle,” he explained.
Speaking, wife of the governor, Mrs Bolanle Ambode, expressed joy at the coming of the children, adding that she would always make their welfare top priority.
“Today is specially set aside for the children you. We are happy that they are here to celebrate with the first family. We have lots of packages for them, which they can enjoy to the fullest. Bicycles, school bags, and other gift items are available for them to grab”
Some of the games include dance competition, recitations, getting ready for school in order of chronology, amongst others.
