More than 50 yoga lovers, all women, performed on July 10 at the Chongqing glass bridge, known as “the world’s No.1 glass bridge.”Surrounded by rays of the early morning sun and accompanied by melodious music, they practiced various difficult movements.
This glass cantilever bridge is located at the Longgang Scenic Spot in Yunyang of southwest China’s Chongqing Municipality. The transparent structure is 718 meters above the ground and has a cantilever extending 26.68 meters from the edge, five meters longer than the Grand Canyon Skywalk of the United States.
The project, with a total investment of 35 million yuan (US$5.6 million), started construction in March 2014 and opened to the public in April 2015. The bridge has a carrying capacity of 1,000 tons.
