The organisers of My Family Mobile Primary and Secondary School Rugby League have disclosed that this year’s school league programme slated to kick off on March 3 would be totally geared towards grooming male and female children on international best practices in the game.

The league, which is sponsored by My Family Mobile, a family networking company to help develop sports in the country, will feature over 10 primary and secondary schools from across Lagos State.

Speaking with The Guardian yesterday, the programme coordinator, Seyi Opanubi stated the All School Schools Rugby League has helped to create more awareness in the game among parents and school children, adding that more schools like Corona Agbara, Chrisland, Ladipo Oluwole and Corona, Ikoyi have already registered to take part in the 2018 league season.

He promised that the secondary and primary schools games would be monitored to pick out talents that would represent Nigeria in international schools rugby championships in future, adding, “My Family Primary and Secondary School Rugby League is fully sponsored by the family friendly company to develop sports, especially the game of rugby in Nigeria.

This year would be more exciting as the children will move a step higher from tag rugby to contact rugby; they will be trained and mentored by experienced coaches, who will inspire and expose them more on the tenets of the game.
