A 35-year-old widow is accusing her late husband’s relatives of hijacking all property they acquired together.
The lady known as Nana Akua said the immediate family of her late husband has been harassing her in an attempt to gain control of the property he left behind without looking at the interest of children he left behind.
The teary woman noted that she and her children cannot afford three square meals a day after her in-laws took over the properties.
Speaking on Nhyira FM’s social magazine show, Obra, the distraught widow expressed shock at the conduct of her late husband’s relatives especially her mother-in-law.
She revealed that she and the late husband Kofi Assumang jointly built houses, set up a kente business with a capital of one billion cedis, bought tipper truck, a taxi, a private car which the late husband uses until he died in a fatal accident at Ntonso in the Ashanti region two years ago.
Nana Akua said the man’s relatives have taken custody of all the assets, including the kente shop which she was managing until the sudden death of her husband.
The widow said she is unable to finance her children’s education as she has no money to work with.
She is therefore appealing to her late husband’s relatives to consider the children and return the properties to them.
