Police Officer has been shot in the foot and beaten to pulp by armed robbers at Cinga in the Bole district of the Northern region.
The officer according to reports, was returning to Bole at around 10: am when the car he was travelling in was attacked.
Richard Forgor of Yagbon Radio in Bole who spoke to Adom News said the robbers who had blocked the road ordered the police officer out of the commercial vehicle and subjected him to massive beatings.
He said though the passengers were also attacked, the police officer was their target.
Richard Forgor added that but for the arrival of another police patrol vehicle at the scene, the robbers would have killed the officer.
The patrol team, he said fired warning shots and the robbers fled into the bush.
Meanwhile, the police officer is receiving treatment at the Bole district hospital.
