Disqualified Presidential aspirant of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Onsy Nkrumah has claimed that he has a prophetic call on his life to be President of Ghana.
The son of Ghana’s first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah in an interview with Adomonline.com’s Kwaku Nti said that prophetic call to be President of Ghana came to him as far back as 1981.
“I had so many prophetic calling on my life running through from 1981 [to be President]…it was just not a decision to be President…,” he said.
Dr. Onsy Nkrumah is in court seeking to place an injunction on the impending congress of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) after he was prevented from contesting the flagbearer slot of the party in the party’s impending congress.
Mr Nathan Nkrumah was disqualified from taking part in the race for issuing a dud cheque in paying for his nomination forms.
A copy of the motion writ sighted by Adomonline.com indicates, however, that the attempt is likely to fail though, as court has set February 10 for hearing the motion, days after the congress takes place.
Mr Nkrumah claimed the leadership of the party connived with Samia Nkrumah, one of the four contesting flagbearer-aspirants, to throw him out of the race without justifiable reason.
“The leadership of the CPP has taken issues into their own hands and I won’t sit down for them to treat me that way, hence my decision to drag the party to the court. If they hold the congress then it will be illegal.
“They just enjoy vilifying me and that is why they are using evil tactics to disqualify me. We need to seek to unite the party and not to kill the party” he stated.
Apart from Samia, the other three flagbearer-aspirants are former General Secretary Ivor Greenstreet, legal practitioner Bright Akwetey and Joseph Agyapong.
The party held its novel flagbearer-aspirants’ debate on Wednesday January 27.
But Mr Nkrumah said he is seeking an order for a declaration that his inability to file his presidential nomination forms was wrongfully caused by the party.
And he adds that he is not just seeking to be President but instead acting on a call on his life which dates back to 1981.
He further chose to describe himself as the ‘Joshua of Ghana’ as his father, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, he said was the Moses that led Ghana out of colonialism.
