The National Organiser and Acting General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, has accused the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) of running the country as though it is for sale.
Reacting to the president’s ‘evidence-based’ State of the Nation Address on an Accra radio station, John Boadu could not fathom why President Mahama did not showcase businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome, who, according to the court, illegally obtained GHs51 million from the nation.

He also questioned why the President did not present beneficiaries of the Smartty’s bus branding scandal and those he said had looted funds of the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) to Parliament.
“If Mahama can use a small amount of money to change the life of Zenabu, then seriously it can change the lives of everyone. He should have at least showcased Woyome and Selassie Ibrahim as evidenced based because they are rather enjoying from the corrupt government” he asserted.
During last week’s State of the Nation Address, President John Mahama purposely brought to Parliament, persons who he said had directly benefited from government’s social intervention programmes.
In response, the NPP flagbearer, Nana Akufo Addo on Monday said the president’s address showed that he was out of touch with Ghanaians.
Nana Addo said even though the NDC has borrowed some US$37 billion in the past 7 years, it has failed to truly transform lives.
John Boadu, asserts that while the president celebrates the success stories of the persons displayed by the president as proof of his government’s successful policies, they do not constitute the reality on the ground.
