Abductors of the kidnapped chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, Apomu branch, Isokan Local Government Area of Osun State, Kazeem Ali, have demanded for the sum of N15 million before he could be released.

Sources said Ali’s abductors had reached out to the family via his wife, Jemila on Monday, demanding for the ransom. It was gathered that neither the victim’s wife nor other members of the family had heard his voice since his attack and disappearance.

One of the sources said “the kidnappers have reached out to us. They warned us not to let anybody know about the negotiations. They have been reaching the family through the wife, Jemila Alli.

“They demanded N15 million as ransom. We have not spoken with Kazeem Ali since he was abducted to ascertain whether he is alive or not. We are relying on God for his safe return.”

The transporter was on Saturday night attacked with cutlasses before he was whisked away from the Oke-Afa area of Apomu to a yet to be known area.

Osun State Police Command had through its Public Relations Officer, Yemisi Opalola, disclosed that Ali was abducted after he was macheted by some people in an unmarked black Toyota Corolla.

While disclosing that eight persons have been arrested in connection with the incident, she added that police operatives, hunters and natives of the community have been combing the forest for his rescue.
